SoCal AFP Committees

  • Communication Committee
    The purpose of the Communication Committee is to ensure two-way communications with the SCAFP membership. In order to accomplish this purpose, the committee will build, monitor, and maintain the various communications channels and tools (website, LinkedIn Group, newsletters etc) used for this purpose. The committee will track and measure participation and attempt to ensure active participation by the SCAFP membership.

  • Education Committee
    The purpose of the Education Committee is to provide SCAFP members with new learning opportunities to help prepare for the CTP Exam and earn recertification points. In addition to offer educational tours to membership to enhance their experience within the organization.

  • Expo Committee
    The purpose of the SoCal EXPO Committee is to plan and execute an outstanding annual conference. In order to accomplish this purpose, the committee will ensure the location of the conference is centrally located to allow participants to easily attend, provide outstanding speakers to share their industry knowledge, and to provide outstanding sponsors to share their products and services.

  • External Relations Committee
    The purpose of the External Relations Committee is to ensure joint working relationships between SCAFP and other organizations in the cash management and treasury industries, including other local AFP chapters and the national AFP organization.

  • Membership Committee
    The purpose of the SCAFP Membership Committee is to help define the organization through the establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures regarding membership eligibility, standards, types or classes of membership, pricing and payment arrangements, benefits, and so on. In most years, the committee will be seeking to grow the size of the membership based primarily on the value of the organization's programs to the Southern California financial community.

  • Programs Committee
    Provide unique educational opportunities that deliver increased attendance at our luncheon meetings and greater participation in our webinars; all while offering our membership renewal credits.

  • Social Events Committee
    The purpose of the Social Events Committee is to enhance the networking experience for SoCal AFP members, by organizing engaging and exciting networking mixers, which will create an opportunity to meet peers and other treasury professionals from various industries in an inviting environment.

CFPB Revamps Structure, Debuts "Celebrity Director' At Trump's Urging
In an effort to make everyone happy, the CFPB has taken a page from the Donald Trump show business canon.

"In effect, we are going to have a rotating cast of celebrity apprentices," explained current-but-soon to be former Director Richard Cordray, at a press conference called hastily on April 1. "We came up with the idea for this when we had a meeting with President Trump and some of his producers - I mean, staffers. The best way out of a constitutional showdown is a bit of the ol' razzle-dazzle."
