Membership Information

MEMBERSHIP
Two types of membership are provided by the SoCal AFP:
  • Practitioner: A member with responsibility for treasury management and/or related functions within an entity. This member is a "user" of treasury
  • Non-Practitioners: A member who provides and/or sells treasury management services including, but not limited to, banking, consulting, advising, and investing.
Any application for membership must be made in writing and may be submitted to the Board of Directors (officers) at any time. The Board or committee authorized by the Board will review each application and, if appropriate, certify that the applicant meets the qualifications for membership in accordance with the types of membership listed above. Membership shall commence upon such certification and upon payment of any required dues.

DUES

The annual membership dues of the SoCal AFP are $350.00
Membership dues are billed annually for the fiscal year January 1 through December 31.  New members joining the SoCal AFP during the second, third and fourth quarters will pay prorated dues, as follows:
     January - June: Full price
     July - December: $175.00

Special Discount Savings:
     $650 - (Prior to 1/31) COMBO Deal includes SoCal EXPO plus 1 calendar year membership
     $725 - (Prior to 2/17) COMBO Deal includes SoCal EXPO plus 1 calendar year membership

MEETINGS

Members are encouraged to attend the luncheon meetings and webinars (held every month except for July,  September and November. The luncheon meetings are generally held on the second Friday of the month at locations around the Los Angeles Area, but there are exceptions, so please check the schedule carefully.) or to send one substitute if the named member is unable to attend. Members are permitted to bring guests (for an added charge) to each meeting.

Once a year, the SoCal AFP sponsors the SoCal EXPO.. The SoCal EXPO offers an extensive slate of educational and networking opportunities. Several sessions are offered in the two day event. The sessions cover a broad scope of treasury issues affording participants the opportunity to gain insight from their professional peers on how different businesses approach treasury issues. Certified Cash Managers and Certified Treasury Professionals can earn up to twelve CTP renewal credits for their participation in the SoCal EXPO.

CTP CERTIFICATION

The Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is an examination-based certification and is widely regarded by treasury managers as one of the leading credentials in the field, reflecting an extremely high standard of professionalism. The CTP certification is offered by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). Information regarding the certification and the exam may be found at http://www.afponline.org/pub/cert/ctp.html
